At our farm we produce certified organic milk from which we make homemade yogurt, feta cheese and kashkaval (Bulgarian yellow cheese). You can try all of theses products at Pod Lipite.
We would like to share with you our recipe for homemade yogurt. If you are far away from Sofia and cannot stop by our restaurant you can prepare it at home.
Homemade yogurt recipe
You need fresh milk.
Bring the milk to a boil, reduce the heat and keep it hot for about 30 minutes.
Then let it cool down to 40-43 degrees Celsius.
Once the milk has cooled down add the yogurt starter culture and store the mixture at 40-45 degrees Celsius for about 4-5 hours.
Next allow the milk and starter culture to sit at room temperature for an additional hour.
The yogurt is now ready to be stored in your refrigerator and eaten.
